Lake Garda: where mountains, valleys and water meet each other

Lake Garda is one of the most beautiful lakes. It is set in a wonderful scenery, in the middle of the mountains, which it mirrors.

Three regions share it: Lombardia, Trentino Alto Adige and Veneto. The northern part is in Trentino Alto-Adige. It is 1 hour away from B&B La Gioconda. You will find both elegant places and shops. It’s the ideal location for those who want to relax.

There are wonderful beaches where you can sunbathe and go swimming.

Lake Garda is the place where you will feel there is a perfect mixture of Mediterranean and Alpine weather and environment .

For these reasons mountain bikers and hikers love it. You will also see lots of windsurfers, trying to surf with the fast winds which blow there

Lake Garda is 52 km long and 4km wide in the North, whereas its southern part is wider (17 km). Its deepest part is 350 m.

Lake Molveno: «a pure gem»

Lake Molveno is immersed in a nature paradise. It is surrounded by the Brenta Mountains and Mounts Gazza and Paganella.

In 2010 it was awarded a prize by Legambiente (an organization, which aims at preserving the environment)
It has a fantastic beach and there are lots of sports and outdoor activities you can do. There is a wonderflul playground for children.
Mountain bikers can choose among a variety of paths, which cross the Paganella plateau. You can also go parachuting among the Brenta Dolomites.

You can go sailing, surfing or just go by boat on Lake Molveno in the Summer.

Lake Molveno is the biggest natural alpine lake, which you can find in Italy over 800 metres above the sea level. It is the deepest lake in Trentino as well.

Trentino castles: Castel Thun

Thun castle was built around the half of the 13th cent. It was the house of the rich and powerful Thun family. They had lots of residences in Non and Sole Valleys.
The structure of Castel Thun is typically gothic and majestic. It had both a civil and a military function in fact.
Thun castle is on top of a hill (609 metres above sea level). It’s located near a village called Vigo di Ton and it has a wonderful panoramic view.

Trentino castles: Castel Tures

Tures castle (Castel Tures, Burg Taufers) is a medieval castle. It is located in  Campo Tures, in the middle of Tures Valley, which crosses Pusteria Valley.

Castel Tures was built by the Taufers Sirs. They were nobles and dynasts. From  1215 they were ministers of the Church of Bressanone. The castle became residence in the 15th and 16th cent.

Castel Tures is particularly big and its furniture is very precious. It is immersed in a wonderful scenery and it is surrounded by the apline chain with its glaciers. Tures Castle is one of the most beautiful castles in Trentino Alto-Adige.

Trentino castles: Castel Toblino

Toblino Castle (Schloß Toblin in German) is located next to Lake Toblino.

Castel Toblino is a magnificent building of the 1500s. Its renaissance structure make it very romantic. Its image reflected in the lake has become famous all over the world.

Mart Museum in Rovereto « We want a museum that is full of vitality and has a global breadth»

Mart (Modern and Contemporary Art Museum of Trento and Rovereto) opened in 1987.It is in Corso Bettini 43, Rovereto. Its previous location (until 2002) was Palazzo delle Albere,Trento.

Mart is now located in a building, which was designed by the Ticino-born architect, Mario Botta, in collaboration with Giulio Andreolli, an engineer from Rovereto. The authors both took inspiration from classic models (i.e. the Pantheon dome) and used very modern technological solutions (the dome shaped roof is made of plexiglas and steel and has a missing slice).

You will see more than 15000 works, including paintings, drawings, engravings and sculptures. There is an important collection of the 1900s. Among the most popular authors you will find works by Giorgio Morandi, Giorgio De Chirico, Carlo Carrà and the futurist Fortunato Depero.

Every year there is a Permament Collection. The MART also lodges temporary exhibitions.
